SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 vs HTC ONE X

Both Samsung and HTC have given their best shot with these amazing 4.7 inch screen phones. While Samsung says that S3 is designed for humans and has backed this with its features, HTC is also playing its best game by introducing an incredible design, camera, user interface and processor. Nonetheless, both the phones have most features and have shaken the world with their powerful presence. Both the phones are in the similar price range and you will surely be having a hard time deciding which one to choose. Well, let’s compare these phones head on.

HARDWARE AND DISPLAY

As soon as you look at the phones, you will know that the manufacturers have spent much time and grey matter to give them a distinguished classy look. Dressed in white, both the beauties carry a stylish and classy look. While Samsung galaxy S3 has a plastic body, HTC has carved the One X out of poly carbonate  Galaxy S3 has a removable back cover that’s made out of plastic but HTC One X has a uni-body design which makes it look classier and sturdier. Talking about the display, while Samsung galaxy S3 has a 4.8 inch AMOLED touch screen, HTC One X doesn’t lag much behind with its 4.7 inch IPS LCD 2 touch screen. But there is a slight difference in terms of resolution with HTC One X giving a 312 ppi pixel density against Samsung Galaxy S3’s 306 ppi.  With One X’s touch buttons against the physical home button in Samsung Galaxy S3, HTC One X is the clear winner in terms of looks and design.

PERFORMANCE

Both Samsung Galaxy S3 and HTC One X are power houses of performance with their incredible quad-core CPU. While Samsung galaxy S3 features a 1.4 GHz quad-core processor, HTC One X boasts a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor with 1 GB RAM. This slight difference stays only in theory as there is not much difference in performance when both the phones are in use. Both the phones do equally fast while playing games, accessing the internet, applications, multi-tasking and switching from one task to another. The processors deliver an equally incredible performance in both the phones. It is hard to say which one is better than the other in terms of processor speed. So, there’s a tie in terms of real-time performance. While in theory, HTC has a better processor with its 1.5 GHz quad-core processor and NVIDIA Tegra 3 chipset.

SOFTWARE AND APPLICATIONS

While both HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy S3 feature an Android version 4.0 ice cream sandwich, there is a lot of difference in the User interface of the two. Where S3 has a touch-Wiz overlay, HTC uses a Sense 4.0 user interface. On the first look the plethora of custom apps and features in S3 might seem appealing, these apps are quite unnecessary if you take a closer look. Samsung has cluttered the UI to an extent that it can perplex the new user. On the other hand, HTC features a simple and easy to use Sense UI. In terms of software and user interface, HTC strikes a goal.

CAMERA AND BATTERY LIFE

Both the phones boast an 8 mega pixel camera with flash. While Samsung galaxy S3 takes an edge with its 1.9 MP front camera against the 1.3 MP of One X. both the cameras are incredible with minimum lag between shots and plethora of options to adjust and edit the picture quality. It is definitely a tie in terms of camera.

Talking about battery life, Samsung galaxy S3 is a clear winner with its 2100 mAh battery pack against the 1800 mAh of HTC One X.
